SWS Market Update - March 25, 2022


U.S. stocks rose for the second week in a row. The S&P 500 went up 0.51% to close at 4543.06 on Friday and went up 1.8% for the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ticked up 0.44% to 34861.24 on Friday and was up 0.3% for the week. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.16% on Friday to close at 14169.30, but was up 2% for the week.


Economic Reports

UMich consumer sentiment index (final) saw a slight decrease in March from 59.7 to 59.4.


5-year inflation expectations (final) remained at 3.0% in March.


Pending home sales index was -4.1% in February.


Markets

The SP 500 is up by 0.51% to close at 4543.06. The index is up 1.79% over five days, up 3.61% over one month, down 3.87% over three months and up 14.30% over one year.

The trailing P/E is 24.78 compared to 44.66 one year ago and estimated future P/E 19.85. Dividend yield is currently 1.39 compared with 1.48 one year ago.
