SWS Market Update - Dow Jones Industrial Average hit lowest level since November 2020


The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped to its lowest level since November 2020. The growing concern over the possibility of recession, inflation, and the war in Ukraine are weighing heavily on investors minds and the global markets. The S&P 500 dropped by 1.72% to close at 3693.23. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.62% to 29590.41 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.80% to 10867.93.

Economic Reports

S&P U.S. manufacturing PMI (flash) reported a slight increase in September from 51.5 to 51.8.

S&P U.S. services PMI (flash) reported an increase to 49.2 in September, compared with 43.7 previously.
