SWS Daily Market Update - Oct 11, 2021


The markets dropped today as there were concerns about slowing growth, climbing oil prices, and increasing inflation. The SP 500 was down by 0.69% to close at 4361.19, the Dow Jones was down by 0.72% to close at 34496.06, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped by 0.64% to close at 14486.20.


U.S. oil futures rose 1.5% to achieve their highest level since 2014 at $80.52 per barrel. Futures on Brent crude also saw their highest settle value in the three years rising 1.5% to $83.65 a barrel. The worldwide shortage of natural has contributed to the increase of oil prices.
